What is a yarn advent kit?

Good question! Traditional advent calendars have small doors or chocolates to open each day in December leading up to Christmas.

​Advent calendars for adults have become more popular over the past years including ones for tea, wine, chocolate, and even beauty products. You can have one containing your favorite thing - yarn! Each day will reveal a mini skein, 24 in total.

The information below will help you make your choices.

Your set includes 24 skeins of fingering weight, DK, or worsted weight yarn in your chosen color theme and skein size. See the details of each yarn option below.

The Full size calendar includes 24 mini skeins of yarn, 20g each.
The Mini size calendar includes 24 micro skeins of yarn, 10g each. 

++++ Set PACKAGING ++++
Wrapped sets come packaged like a traditional Advent Calendar with small, dated packages of individual skeins to be opened each day, December 1st-24th.

This is a good option if you want to be surprised daily and knit in the order we have determined.

Unwrapped sets  are packaged with the skeins immediately accessible. This is a  good option if you would like to see all of the colors at once.

Unwrapped skeins come with numbered tags so you can put them in the order we have chosen - or design your own.

There are a very small number of deluxe advent sets available this year. They contain the advent yarn set plus a Christmas-sized pile of gifts picked just for you. Find out more about them here.

Ember: fingering weight, 75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon
Full set: 92 yards/20g per skein
Mini set: 46 yards/10g per skein

Exclusive to 2024's advent sets:
Mythic: fingering weight, 70% superwash merino, 20% baby alpaca, 10% silk
Full set: 87 yards/20g

Full-size skeins are available to pair with your set; you can find them here. You can add them to your box at any time without additional shipping costs.

Advent sets will be mailed the week of October 28th to ensure they reach you by December 1st. Advent set orders do not qualify for free shipping; shipping cost will be calculated at checkout based on your location.

Please don't add any other items to your cart with the advent sets or 100g accent or coordinating skeins. Any additional items in the order will be held and shipped with the kit in October.
