The Great, or Continental, Divide separates the two main watersheds in the United States.
Running along the ridges of the Rocky Mountains, rain that falls to the western side ends up in the Pacific Ocean, and rain that falls to the east will eventually end up in the Atlantic Ocean.
The peak on this hat represents the Rocky Mountains and that Divide. Wear the textured triangle in the front, off to the side, or even to the back.

This pattern is suitable for a beginner knitter who is comfortable with knitting in the round and basic decreases.
